Our new Moodle service (version 2.6.2) now uses a new HTML editor called TinyMCE HTML editor. With HTML editors we can edit text online, specifying colors, different font sizes, adding links and images, and inserting formatted text like tables and bulleted/ordered lists.
We have received several bug reports on the use of Tiny MCE editor, where certain textual decorations (colors, line breaks, for example) disappear while editing. We are now investigating the causes of the bug. The troubles seem to occur in the following computer environments (the combinations of OS/machine + Web browser):
- iPhone 5 + Safari (maybe newest version)
- Windows 8.1 + Google Chrome 34.0
- Mac OS X + Google Chrome 35.0
- Mac OS X + Safari 7.0.3
If you use our Moodle service with the above mentioned computer environments, we advise you to use an alternative browser. For example, with Windows 8/8.1, it is safe to use Internet Explorer or Firefox.
Or if you prefer keep using the current working environment, you can: Set an alternative HTML text editor called "Atto HTML editor" as your editor. You can change your profile settings from [My profile settings] > [Edit profile]. The default text editor is "TinyMCE HTML editor", so change it to "Atto HTML editor" (for details see the attached image).
We apologize for any inconvenience.
